Simon Watts standing for North Shore and Jake Bezzant is standing in the Upper Harbour Electorate.Simon was most recently the Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Waitemata District Health Board.
He has a Bachelor of Management Studies, Accounting and Finance from the University of Waikato and a Bachelor of Health Science, Paramedicine from Auckland University of Technology. He is also a Chartered Accountant.
Simon joined the Royal Bank of Scotland in London in 2005. Through various management roles he helped the bank navigate its response to the Global Financial Crisis, including a period as Chief of Staff to the global investment bank CFO.
In 2013, Simon and his family returned to New Zealand where he took up a role at Counties Manukau DHB. In 2016, he moved to Waitemata DHB, and was ultimately promoted to Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Through this role he was responsible for supply chain, procurement, costing analytics.

Jake, 31, has a degree in Law and Politics/International Relations. Following his graduation, he worked for Smart Parking Limited as a Commercial Manager and Legal Officer.
Jake was formally the Chief Executive Officer of Parking Sense, a New Zealand high-tech company that offers a suite of intelligent parking solutions for industries like healthcare, smart cities and airports.
He has helped to grow the company from five staff to the world’s largest transport parking technology company.

My experience on Pitcairn Island

I live in Hillcrest and have four children. I have a bachelor of Social work and Social Policy from Massey University. I worked as a social worker in the past in a variety of roles.
Once I had my children, I retrained as s teacher. I have taught at MBIS for seven years, taking one year out in 2018 to teach in Pitcairn Island.
Iam now working as a teacher and team leader at NIS.
My hobbies include tennis, netball and snow skiing. I am currently writing a book about my experience on Pitcairn Island.

The Noises Trust

You are warmly invited to hear the unique Stories of The Noises, shared by Sue Neureuter whose family are the third-generation owners of the Hauraki Gulf island group and Katina Conomos, who is working alongside the Neureuter family to advance holistic protection, restoration and regeneration of the islands and their surrounds.
Pictures and audio recordings will help transport listeners to these jewels of the gulf.

Nick is a Pacific Community Leader, who has a special knack of starting successful community initiatives with a simple idea and very little else. His ability to gather and inspire community volunteers is legendary. With 25 years experience as a Police Officer in Auckland, he went on to Manage the Pacific Youth strategy for the Ministry of Social Development and spent 4 years as a Pacific Engagement Advisor to Te Wananga O Aotearoa. For his sterling work, Nick has been recognized by Police, Government and Community Organisation with several awards including, Queen Service Medal, made a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Auckland, voted by the North and South Magazine as one of the top 100 Kiwis of Year in 2000 and was one of 6 recipients of the Auckland Mayor’s Living Legends Award in 2007. Nick is a gifted Orator and motivational speaker, so when blended with his mediation skills, organisations have benefited and enjoyed his ability to navigate and motivate their leadership and staff through rough waters. When not busy with Projects, Nick enjoys mentoring young leaders, speaking to youth in schools and is currently the Pacific Director for Family First New Zealand. |

Bike Auckland

Barbara is our Chief Enthusiasm Officer. She has a strong background in urban planning, mostly working with her structural engineer husband in their Devonport based planning and engineering consultancy.
She had led Bike Auckland for a decade. ‘Leading Bike Auckland is a privilege, as we have such a skilled and dedicated team and an inspirational goal to fulfil. My role opens up Auckland to me and my bike, and puts me in touch with the huge groundswell of popular support for cycling and the desire of so many Aucklanders to transform our city into a place where riding a bike is valued, safe and easy for all ages.’
